Dendrobium stratiotes is a native orchid of Indonesia (Sulawesi and Ambon), it can be found growing epiphytically in various habitats such as lowland forests, mountain forests, and sometimes even on rocks or cliffs. During the flowering season, which typically occurs in the summer, Dendrobium stratiotes produce clusters of flowers with elongated and curling sepals, hence it is also often referred to as the Curly Dendrobium. This orchid is also frequently called the “Handsome” Orchid due to the very neat and orderly arrangement of its flowers.
